October 6 Appleton East Homecoming Parade
Friday
We still need cars. Call Greg Tate.
This has been a yearly event for the club since 1984.
We need 20 cars to make this event successful.
Rain or shine. OK to throw candy from car,
Meet: 4:30pm East side Target on Calumet Street
Depart: 4:45pm Drop off passengers at Hank & Karen's and then continue to Meade Pool for staging. (Note: some drivers choose to go directly to the Meade Pool Parking Lot. No problem, but please let us know should you choose this option.) Here you will meet your ride for the parade. Actually, the ride chooses you! Should you drive a rag top, you do not have to allow the passenger to sit on the deck. If you do, consider having a blanket to sit on to avoid potential scratches. Convertibles are not a necessity, all Corvettes are welcomed. Candy can be thrown to the neighbors, students, teachers, parents, relatives, and the young children who line the street to cheer on the marchers, drivers and riders. You are making lifetime memories for some neat kids. Your participation is a way in which we, as a club, give back to the community by simply providing a ride in your car. And beautiful cars they are. This is a rain or shine event! The show must go on! Veteran participants can share stories about weathered events and the East Parade. More often that not, the weather is crisp, cool and perfect. Eventually, we drop off our passenger in the Shaffer Street Parking lot. After picking up our navigator, we exit left onto Shaffer Street, drive to Calumet, turn right, and onward to Memorial Drive. Turning left the group will reassemble for dinner at George’s Steak House. The owner, Brad Quimby, is an East alumnus and has reserved a room for us. Here stories will be shared over great food and drink. Please consider participating in this unique event
