September 30 Appleton East Homecoming Parade/Dinner
Friday
Meet: 4:30pm Target east side parking lot
Depart: 4:45pm Driver's meeting
We drop off our navigators on John Street, in front of the unofficial staging area - Hank and Karen’s. (Both, by the way, are East alums.) We stage at Meade Pool. In the past some drivers have driven straight to this site. Simply let us know that you will be doing this. At the pool, we meet our “ride” for the short, slow parade to the game. You may throw candy to the students, parents, teachers and young children who line the streets to cheer on the marchers and riders. This is a neat event. The enthusiasm and excitement are contagious. Your participation will help make lifelong memories for these kids. Who knows, you might just be igniting the spark that will turn your rider into a future Corvette owner. After dropping off your student and picking up your navigator in the Shaffer Street parking lot, we will proceed to Draft Gastropub for drinks and dinner. We have 7:00 reservations. Conversations always include a recap of the proceedings. Draft is located on the east side of Richmond Street, between Northland Avenue and Capitol Drive. If you wish, plug the address into your GPS (664 W. Ridgeview Dr.) Getting twenty Corvettes in one place at any given time can be daunting. But then again, we’ve been successful in doing so since 1984. We can do it once more. Hope to see you there.
